Ingredients

Serves: Makes 4

Metric Cups

For the Burgers

  • 50 grams ritz crackers
  • white fish (like coley, pollock or red bream)
  • 2 spring onions (chopped)
  • 1 handful fresh parsley
  • 1 lemon zest
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 2 drops tabasco (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (for frying)

For the Serving

  • hamburger rolls
  • pickled gherkins
  • peppadew peppers
  • piccalilli
  • mayonnaise

For the Burgers

  • 1¾ ounces ritz crackers
  • white fish (like coley, pollock or red bream)
  • 2 scallions (chopped)
  • 1 handful fresh parsley
  • 1 lemon zest
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 2 drops tabasco (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (for frying)

For the Serving

  • hamburger rolls
  • pickled gherkins
  • peppadew peppers
  • piccalilli
  • mayonnaise

Method

Fish Finger Burgers is a community recipe submitted by juliaisabelle and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Process the crackers until they resemble crumbs.
  • Take any pin bones out of the fish fillets, and cut up and put into the processor with the spring onions, parsley leaves, lemon zest and a sprinkle each of salt and pepper, and Tabasco if desired. Process everything until finely chopped, and beginning to adhere together.
  • Shape the mixture into 4 flattish burgers of about 10cm in diameter.
  • Heat a frying pan with the oil, and fry the burgers for about four minutes a side.
  • Eat the fish burgers in a bun with pickled gherkins and other condiments of your choice.
