This is an easy marmalade, I make it all the time I forget when I last bought a jar of marmalade.


Serves: 4-6

  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 grapefruit
  • 2 pints water
  • 4 pounds sugar


Marmalade is a community recipe submitted by kariwak and has not been tested by so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Wash and cut up fruit, put through a mincer or processor, put in a pan with the water and boil till fruit is soft, 1/2 - 3/4 hour.
  • Add sugar and dissolve and boil again for 45mins - 1 hour. (*)
  • Test and once ready pour in to jars and seal.
  • Additional Information

    (*) Because I use a food processor the fruit is cut up very fine, so the above times are a bit long and I find that approx 35 minutes for each stage is enough. This recipe was made to be used with a mincer. Once I open the marmalade I keep it in the fridge. I also ring the changes by replacing the orange with a lime or all orange or all lime, I like to experiment. My B&B guests like it. Enjoy
