Metric Cups

For the Cake

  • 3 eggs
  • 300 millilitres caster sugar
  • 3 bananas
  • 100 millilitres butter (melted)
  • 75 millilitres milk
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 450 grams flour (sifted)

For the Glace

  • 150 grams icing sugar
  • 50 grams butter
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla sugar
  • 3 tablespoons coffee

For the Cake

  • 11 fluid ounces superfine sugar
  • 3 bananas
  • 4 fluid ounces butter (melted)
  • 3 fluid ounces milk
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 15⅞ ounces flour (sifted)

For the Glace

  • 5⅓ ounces confectioners' sugar
  • 1¾ ounces butter
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla sugar
  • 3 tablespoons coffee

Method

  • Mash the bananas, add to the batter, Add the melted butter and the milk.
  • Mix the rest of the dry ingredients (vanilla sugar, baking powder and flour), stir with a wooden spoon to combine.
  • Pour the batter in a lined pan, about 30x35 cm, or even the pan/tray that comes with the oven.
  • Bake 175 C about 25 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean.
  • Mix all the ingredients for the glace until smooth, and smear the glace on the cake when it has cooled completely.
  • Cut in squares, as you do with brownies.
