Introduction

This is Emeril's recipe which I use. Sugar pie is rich, dense and sweet. It reminds me of eating a piece of fudge.

Ingredients

Serves: 8

  • 1 cup maple sugar
  • 1 cup soft light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 pie shell (unbaked)

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Combine the maple sugar, brown sugar, cream, egg, flour and butter in a mixing bowl and stir to blend.
  • Pour the mixture into the pie shell and bake until golden brown, about 25 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and cool for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Slice the pie into individual servings and serve warm.
