Measure honey or syrup easily

If a recipe calls for honey or syrup, I coat the spoon or cup measure with a thin coat of oil first. Then the syrup or honey slides out perfectly, and I know I'm getting the full amount called for in the recipe -- with not a lot still sticking to the spoon or cup!
