Our answer

Nigella's Sweetcorn Chowder With Toasted Tortillas (from NIGELLA EXPRESS) is a speedy soup made from frozen corn kernels. The soup is thickened with a little semolina, which is made from durum wheat. You could just omit the semolina altogether. The soup will be slightly thinner but the blitzed sweetcorn will mean that it still thickens slightly.

Alternatively you could try using a fine polenta or cornmeal or we also suspect that here you could use quick-cooking polenta (the type that takes 3-5 minutes). However as we have not tried the soup with this ingredient, we are unable to guarantee the result. We would also mention that if you need the dish to be gluten-free please check the packaging of the tortilla chips to ensure that they are suitable.
