Size Of Yogurt Pot For Cake

Asked by Blindwe11. Answered on 10th March 2016

Full question

For the Yogurt Pot Cake what size pots are you referring to - is it 150g ? Thank you, Kay.

Our answer

Nigella's Yogurt Pot Cake (from NIGELLISSIMA here and on Nigella.com here) is an adaptation of a popular Italian family recipe sometimes known as Ciambella. It is easy to make as it uses the yogurt pot as a unit to measure the other ingredients. The pot used by Nigella is a 150g pot (6-ounce carton) of natural yogurt, which is available in most supermarkets.

The cake was very popular when it was featured on the Nigellissima TV show and for convenience Nigella has included the exact measurements for the ingredients in the recipe that is on the website. We would also suggest that you read throught this recipe before making the cake, as it has a combination of both plain (all-purpose) flour and cornflour (cornstarch).
