I have recently seen an episode of Nigella's Kitchen and she made a salad with prawns using mirin and called it "Japanese Prawns" but I can't find the recipe anywhere. Can you help?
We believe the recipe you are looking for is indeed called Japanese Prawns and appears in Nigella's book Kitchen, on p190. Unfortunately this recipe is not available on-line.
The prawns are stir-fried with sake, lime juice and wasabi - a sweet, sour and hot combination. They can be served with salad but are also good with rice noodles or steamed rice. The dish is very quick and can be made with frozen raw prawns so it is an excellent standby supper.
