Our answer

Nigella's Lemon Polenta Cake (from KITCHEN) is a popular gluten-free cake that is flavoured with lemon zest and soaked with a sweet and sharp lemon syrup. The syrup is made with a combination of lemon juice and icing (confectioners') sugar.

Lemons do vary a bit in size but in our experience a lemon usually yields approximately 4 tablespoons (60ml/¼ cup) of juice. So for the recipe we would suggest using 8 tablespoons (120ml/½ cup) of juice. Limes however are smaller and generally yield less, so we usually find that a lime will contain only 2 tablespoons (30ml) juice.
