Introduction

Good to eat with or without Butter.

Ingredients

Yield: 1 Cake

  • 500 millilitres sugar
  • 57 grams butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅞ kilogram mixed dried fruit
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 500 millilitres hot water
  • 750 millilitres flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda

  • Preheat oven to 170°C or 300°F.
  • Boil all first ingredients in the Hot Water for 5 mins. Let cool.
  • Then add this to the Flour and Baking Soda. Mix together well.
  • Put into a lined Baking form round or square.ca.8 ins.
  • Bake 11/2 hrs. with the cake cover with Baking paper. Remove for the last 15 mins.
