  • 250 grams light syrup
  • 225 grams sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1½ teaspoons ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 650 grams plain wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 7⅞ ounces margarine (or butter)
  • 8⅚ ounces light syrup
  • 7⅞ ounces sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1½ teaspoons ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 22⅞ ounces plain wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
