Ingredients

Serves: Usually serves 4

Metric Cups
  • 63 millilitres butter Melted
  • 625 millilitres milk
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 750 millilitres mature cheddar Grated
  • 313 millilitres parmesan cheese Grated
  • 75 millilitres wholewheat flour
  • 1000 millilitres macaroni
  • 125 millilitres breadcrumbs
  • 2⅕ fluid ounce butter Melted
  • 21⅞ fluid ounce milk
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 26⅓ fluid ounce mature cheddar Grated
  • 10⅞ fluid ounce parmesan cheese Grated
  • 2⅝ fluid ounce wholewheat flour
  • 35⅛ fluid ounce macaroni
  • 4⅖ fluid ounce breadcrumbs

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Stir everything but the noodles and the bread crumbs in a pot, then gradually heat on stove until the mixture comes to a slow boil.
  • Remove from heat and mix in the macaroni/cavatappi, coating all noodles as evenly as possible.
  • Pour into a baking dish and sprinkle with the bread crumbs.
  • Bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
  • Let stand for five minutes to allow the sauce to congeal a bit before serving.
