Ingredients

Serves: 1 sandwich serves one

Metric Cups
  • 2 slices granary bread (or stoneground, 'proper')
  • 3 large portobello mushrooms (or field mushrooms)
  • olive oil (or garlic butter)

Method

  • Take the stalk out of the mushrooms, if using garlic butter stuff the caps.
  • Place on a baking tray and sprinkle with oil. Put into a heated oven, gas mark 5/6, for about 20 mins.Or until the mushrooms are cooked through.
  • Put the mushrooms to one side on a warmed plate, and mop the juices up with the bread.
  • Put one of the slices, juice side up, and place the mushrooms on it, cover with the other slice and cut in half. Eat and enjoy
