Kmumby's Chocolate Salami

Ingredients

Serves: Makes 3 good sized rolls

Metric Cups
  • 250 millilitres brandy
  • 250 grams dried figs (finely chopped)
  • 1 gram dried cranberries
  • 400 grams dark chocolate (melted)
  • 250 millilitres golden syrup
  • 200 grams plain chocolate biscuits (crushed)
  • 250 millilitres pistachios
  • 8⅘ fluid ounces brandy
  • 9 ounces dried figs (finely chopped)
  • ounce dried cranberries
  • 14 ounces bittersweet chocolate (melted)
  • 8⅘ fluid ounces golden syrup or light corn syrup
  • 7 ounces plain chocolate biscuits (crushed)
  • 8⅘ fluid ounces pistachios

Method

Kmumby's Chocolate Salami is a community recipe submitted by kmumby and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Combine the brandy, figs and cranberries in a medium microwave safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH (100%) for 2 minutes, then set aside for 1 hour.
  • Place the chocolate in a large bowl over a pan of simmering water; heat until melted. Remove the bowl from the pan, stir in golden syrup. Fold in the biscuits and pistachios, then fruit mixture.
  • Divide mixture between three sheets of baking paper and roll to form log or salami shapes. Refrigerate until set.
  • To present, unroll when firm. Roll in sifted icing sugar, then you could use the string as per Nigella recipe and or then re-wrap in cellophane. Tie ends of with decorative ribbon. I also made small gift tags on the computer, listing all the ingredients on one side and the To: From on the other.
