  • Every year in a huge clean jar you start collecting the fresh fruit. in spring you start with strawberries, put a layer in the jar, sprinkle it with a little sugar, then pour as much rum on top of it so that it is fully covered.
  • When the next fruit comes (cherries, for example) you put the next layer of fruit, sugar and rum on it. This goes on until the last fruit of the year (pear in Europe) comes.
  • You close the jar and only open it at Christmas. Be ready for a giggly surprise.
