Ingredients

Serves: 2-3

Metric Cups
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 small onion (sliced very finely)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • fresh ginger (a thumb-sized piece)
  • 1 red chilli (finely chopped)
  • 500 grams minced turkey
  • 2 tablespoons thai fish sauce (nam pla)
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 30 grams fresh basil (or so, chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • fresh gingerroot (a thumb-sized piece)
  • 1 red chile (finely chopped)
  • 17⅔ ounces ground turkey
  • 2 tablespoons thai fish sauce (nam pla)
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 ounces fresh basil (or so, chopped)

Method

Quick Thai-Style Turkey Mince is a community recipe submitted by PressuredCooker and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Fry the onion in the heated oil until deep golden brown.
  • Add the ginger, garlic and chilli and stir fry for minute (careful not to burn the garlic).
  • Tip in the mince, bash it about to break it up then stir fry until cooked through - only about three minutes, really.
  • Off the heat, add the fish sauce and sugar, stir well, then fold through the basil.
