Chicken Kebobs

These are delicious and easy to make for quick entertaining.


Serves: 4-6

  • 2 pounds chicken pieces (skinned and boned)
  • 1 large grated onion
  • 1 large lemon (juiced)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pinch of saffron
  • salt
  • pepper
  • turmeric
  • ½ cup plain yogurt

  • In a large mixing bowl, mix grated onion, lemon juice, vegetable oil, saffron, seasonings, and yogurt.
  • Marinate chicken pieces in the above mixture.
  • Leave in the refrigerator to marinate over night or for a couple of hours. Brush oil on grill.
  • Heat grill to medium high. Grill for 5-7 minutes on each side or until center of meat is cooked through and the edges are golden crisp.
  • Serve on lavosh bread, with grilled tomatoes, radishes, fresh parsley, and lemon slices.

    These kebobs are great for summer entertaining with chilled white wine, tossed salads, and saffron rice.
