Vegan Maple Syrup Cookies

These are so easy to make, and the rich maple flavour makes them perfect treats for autumn.


Serves: 6-8

  • 113 grams softened margarine (or equal amount of vegetable oil)
  • 113 grams soft brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple sauce
  • 125 millilitres maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 312 grams flour
  • 1 pinch of salt


Vegan Maple Syrup Cookies is a community recipe submitted by slashkilter and has not been tested by so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Preheat the oven to 175 C.
  • Cream the sugar with the margarine (you can use butter for a richer flavour, though the veganness is gone then), then add the applesauce, vanilla and maple syrup and mix well.
  • Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until everything is combined.
  • Take little balls of dough and put them on your greased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  • You don't have to flatten them.
  • Bake for about 8-10 minutes and let them cool on a wire rack.
