Back when I used to live in South-East Asia I learned a nifty trick to lake pineapple taste sweeter. This is especially useful for those of us who live in colder climates and are positively pining (pun intended, tasteless, I know) for sweet, juicy pineapple to nosh on. It's so simple it barely is a tip at all: sprinkle your pieces of pineapple with a bit of salt. Yum. Works for other fruit too. I guess that's where the tequila-salt-lemon combo comes into play.
