Full question

Hello, has Nigella a chocolate dessert recipe that could be frozen? This would be for a dinner party as I would like to make it in advance. Thanks.

Our answer

NIgella has many chocolate dessert recipes and several can be frozen. The flourless chocolate cakes freeze very well (without whipped cream) and if you are looking for a dessert that will please a lot of people then we would suggest the Chocolate Cloud Cake. The Flourless Chocolate Lime Cake With Margarita Cream is a citrussy version of the classic flourless cake, or for a rich truffle cake try the Chocolate Meringue Truffle Cake.

Nigella's Chocolate Cheesecake will also freeze very well, without the chocolate glaze. For these desserts it is best to let them cool completely then unspring them from their pans, but leave them on the pan base for a little extra support. Wrap carefully in a double layer of clingfilm (plastic wrap) plus a layer of foil and freeze for up to 3 months. To thaw the cheesecake or the truffle cake, unwrap them, cover loosely with clingfilm and thaw overnight in the fridge. For the flourless cakes, unwrap them and put on a wire rack at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours. Add any sauce, glaze or whipped cream just before serving.
