Quick Live Miso Soup

With the snow and frost around, I made this yesterday as a lovely warming comfort snack. It is really quick and requires no cooking as miso is a live food and the enzymes are destroyed by boiling. Enjoy.


Serves: 1-2

  • 2 large tomatoes
  • ¾ cup snow peas
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ teaspoon sage
  • 1 slice fresh gingerroot
  • 1 teaspoon miso
  • ⅕ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1½ cups hot water

  • Quarter the tomatoes and add to the blender.
  • Add all the other ingredients into the blender.
  • Put the kettle on and turn off just before boiling point. Add the water to the blender and blend until smooth. You can thicken the soup with more peas if you like.
  • Serves 1-2 or pop into a flask to take on the go.
  • Additional Information

    This is a live soup and can be a bit frothy after it is blended. Simply scoop off the top foam.
