Ingredients

Serves: 6-8 slices

For the Crust

  • ½ cup grated cheese
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter

For the Filling

  • 1 tin fresh green asparagus (save juice for use later)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • 1 asparagus juice (from tin)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1½ cups grated cheese
  • 1 paprika

  • CRUST: Whiz cheese, flour and butter together. Press into Dish.
  • FILLING: Melt Butter, add flour and cup of liquid(white sauc),when thick add egg, cheese and asparagus. Pour over base and bake at 180 for 25 minutes, sprinkle over paprika or chopped parsley.
  • Additional Information

    Creamed Spinach can be used instead of asparagus.
