Molten Chocolate Cakes

It appears each restaurant in America offers a variant of this stunning cake made by expert chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Yet, his especially rich and chocolaty version is unique and in a class of it's own.


Serves: 4-6

  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 180 grams dark chocolate
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 2 medium egg yolks
  • 1 sugar
  • 1 gram salt
  • 2 tablespoons flour

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F. Butter and softly flour four 6-ounce ramekins. Tap out the abundance flour. Set the ramekins on a heating sheet
  • In a twofold boiler, over stewing water, liquefy the butter with the chocolate. In a medium dish, beat the eggs with the egg yolks, sugar and salt at rapid until thickened and pale.
  • Whisk the chocolate until smooth. Rapidly overlay it into the egg blend alongside the flour.
  • Spoon the player into the readied ramekins and prepare for 12 minutes, or until the sides of the cakes are firm yet the focuses are delicate.
  • Let the cakes cool in the ramekins for 1 moment, and then cover each with a reversed dessert plate. Deliberately turn every one over, let stand for 10 seconds and afterward unmold. Serve promptly.
  • Make Ahead:

    The food can be put to the fridge for a few hours; convey to room temperature before preparing. Now these chocolate delivery options are simple.
