A mince dish that's a little different

Ingredients

Serves: 4

Metric Cups
  • ½ kilogram minced lamb
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 green pepper (deseeded and chopped)
  • 2 courgettes (finely chopped)
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • ¼ litre water
  • 250 grams pasta
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 120 grams mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • ⅞ pound ground lamb
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 green bell pepper (deseeded and chopped)
  • 2 zucchini (finely chopped)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • ⅖ pint water
  • 8⅚ ounces pasta
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 4¼ ounces mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of black pepper

Method

Lamb and Pasta Medley is a community recipe submitted by Razzy and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Heat oil in a saucepan and fry the onion, green pepper and courgettes gently for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
  • Add lamb, turn on heat to high and fry until the meat is evenly browned, stirring with a wooden spoon to remove any lumps.
  • Pour off any excess fat. Stir in the tomatoes with their juice and the water, breaking up any tomato lumps with the spoon.
  • Bring to the boil stirring frequently.
  • Add the pasta, herbs, salt and pepper to taste and mix well.
  • Cover the pan and simmer the lamb and pasta for 15 minutes.
  • Stir in the mushrooms and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Serve at once.
