Ingredients

Serves: serves 6

Metric Cups

For the Topping

  • 25 grams brown sugar
  • 65 grams butter
  • 100 grams quick cook oats

For the Base

  • 1 cooking apple Peeled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 200 grams strawberries
  • 50 grams golden caster sugar

For the Topping

  • ⅞ ounce brown sugar
  • 2¼ ounces butter
  • 3½ ounces quick-cooking oats

For the Base

  • 1 apple Peeled and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 7 ounces strawberries
  • 1¾ ounces superfine sugar

Method

  • To make the crumble topping place your flour in a bowl rub in the butter to resemble breadcrumbs and stir in the sugar.
  • Place the chopped cooking apple and water in a pan and cool over very low heat until they begin to soften. Add the strawberries and sugar and cook for further 3-4 minutes. Spoon into an oven proof dish and cover with the crumble topping. Bake in a pre heated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden. Delicious served hot with custard or cream.
  • Oven temperature: 190 degrees C/375 Gas mark 5
