Non Alcoholic Puddini Bonbons

Asked by rachp. Answered on 12th December 2015

Full question

How could I make the Christmas Puddini Bonbons without alcohol?

Our answer

Nigella's Christmas Puddini Bonbons (from Christmas and on the Nigella website) are made with leftover Christmas pudding, though you can also make them as Christmas gifts if you cook a Christmas pudding in advance of Christmas. We are not sure of the exact reason for not including alcohol but please do note that many Christmas puddings may contain alcohol, though most of the alchohol should evaporate during the cooking process.

For the bonbons themselves it should be possible to replace the sherry with either cooled coffee (we would suggest regular strength rather than espresso) or orange juice. The flavour of the bonbons will be changed slightly, depending on which one you use. As the bonbons lack alcohol they may not keep quite as well and so we would recommend making them up to one week in advance.
