This month’s Cookalong is Nigella’s Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake, a layered affair with enough chocolate icing to sandwich the cake and cover the top and sides. It’s your choice as to whether you use a processor to make the sponge layers or just make them simply by hand. We’re also giving you all a freehand to decorate your chocolate cake as you wish. Nigella uses sugar pansies here, but get creative and see what inspires you.
